Gluten-Free

     Many people don't realize how much of the things they eat or drink have gluten in it.  By having a gluten-free diet it can help people who suffer from "celiac disease", it's also just a great diet.  Though it may feel like everything may have gluten in it, many stores sell the same things we eat everyday but are gluten-free and taste just as good.  Things such as bread, and pasta are now available without gluten.


Allowed foods
Many healthy and good tasting foods that are naturally gluten-free:
  • Beans, seeds, nuts in their natural, unprocessed form
  • Fresh eggs
  • Fresh meats, fish and poultry (not breaded, batter-coated or marinated)
  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Most dairy products

It's important to make sure that you don't add additional things that aren't gluten-free.  Many grains and starches can be part of a gluten-free diet:
  • Amaranth
  • Arrowroot
  • Buckwheat
  • Corn and cornmeal
  • Flax
  • Gluten-free flours (rice, soy, corn, potato, bean)
  • Corn
  • Millet
  • Quinoa
  • Rice
  • Sorghum
  • Soy
  • Tapioca
  • Teff

Avoid Food/Drinks that have or contains:

  • Barley (malt, malt flavoring and malt vinegar are usually made from barley)
  • Rye
  • Triticale (a cross between wheat and rye)
  • Wheat
  • Bulgur
  • Durum flour
  • Farina
  • Graham flour
  • Kamut
  • Semolina
  • Spelt

    1. Glutton free diets are a fad and a scam. If people would just watch their calories and fat grams, they would not be overweight.

    2. my ex is a celiac. he graduated from rogers last year. it was very difficult working around his diet. the more i learned about his disease, the more i realized how wheat is in almost everything!!! plus glutton free foods are expensive :/
